Cooperative Academy

Education God’s Way!

Our Academy functions and operates as a Homeschool Cooperative with enrollment categories described as Cooperative Education Tiers (CET).

What is a Homeschool Cooperative?

A homeschool cooperative is a group of home educators coming together to provide academic, social, spiritual, economic, cultural needs and enrichment opportunities for their children.

What are Cooperative Education Tiers?

Cooperative (also know as co-op) Education Tiers (CETs) are the autonomous levels of our operational structure within the school.

KGCA has three main programs/groups we define as CETs:

Non-Homeschoolers (full-time students), aka NHS.
Active-Homeschoolers (part-time students), aka AHS.
Enrichment Co-op Students (all students), aka ECS.

We believe that the ultimate responsibility for the education of children belongs to parents (Deuteronomy 4:9, 6:1-25, and 4:1-4) and is an inalienable right given by God, which the State cannot create, destroy, or alter. Parents may allow another to teach some of the cognitive information that children need to know, but all education must be under the ultimate control and supervision of the parents (Proverbs 22:6).

We believe education in the home (done by the parent) to be the best form of education, but we recognize that many parents cannot educate at home for valid reasons and support the right of parents to send their children to private Christian schools. We further recognize that because of economic or other reasons, a parent or guardian may have no other alternative but to place a child in a public or private school. Although this is acceptable in society, we do not, however, support or condone public education because of their ostensible, secular-humanistic philosophy of education.

Therefore, our school is unique in its’ philosophy of assisting parents, by providing them the opportunity to give their children a great education in a home away from home environment. Through this concept of cooperative individualization, children experience the sense of community, self-discipline, mastery-based achievement, motivation, enriched educational advantages of a Christ-like home-school atmosphere.

In this setting, parents are the designated teachers in the classroom, rotating and participating in the educational programs of all the children, thus making it truly a cooperative venture. If you’re actively homeschooling, co-op is only a complement to your family’s core curriculum, not a replacement for parental instruction (Proverbs 22:6).

Ky’Ijel Group Christian Academy recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child, therefore, is dedicated to work alongside parents by providing needed resources in aiding children to succeed to the next academic level with the guided strength of biblical principles, affordable education and know-how. We’re prepared to meet the educational needs of all families.
